Overview

This role is responsible for ensuring Quality Chip stock supplies for as per AOP. It is further responsible for implementation of the Positive Agriculture Agenda with the growers, while enhancing mechanization in field operations.
Directly coordinate the activities from Farmer Selection, Sowing to Harvest, such as land preparation, Seed issuance, Sowing, Crop Monitoring, and management, harvesting, Bulk Handling and Grading.
The role is responsible for ensuring coordination and seamless communication with QA, Storages and Logistics and implementation of the best practices from field to storage. It is further responsible for ensuring modern mechanization techniques implementation.
Lastly, the role is responsible for leading the mechanization agenda to drive cost advantage in field operations, reduce losses in cold store operations and improve quality of incoming potato as an outcome


Responsibilities
  • Directly coordinate the activities from Farmer Selection selected for use of Agro equipment from Sowing to Harvest and storage such as land preparation, Sowing, harvesting, Bulk Handling, Grading and storage. Record Keeping of all the above activities to ensure traceability.
  • Working in close liaison with the senior management, providing feedback and suggestions to potato suppliers, cross-functional communication with production, quality and logistics.
  • Facilitate potato storage team through auto loading and unloading system during cold store filling. Develop easy potato bags loading and unloading procedures at areas where proper loading and un loading equipment’s are not available through bags loading stations.
  • Support to Agro quality team by keeping operational all potato quality testing equipment being used in potato testing mobile labs (mini fryers, peelers, slicers etc.) during potato harvesting and secondary loading from cold stores. Coordinate with Agro quality team for continuous improvement in KPI (reduction in mechanized Potato seed and chips stock defects level.
  • Make arrangement of operational training for farmer staff and mechanization seasonal staff regarding operations of Agro equipment to attain maximum efficiency.
  • To create and maintain safe working environment, conduct training with collaboration of HSE team for100% implementation of PepsiCo safety agenda.
  • Implementation of Agronomy best practices from field to Storage where mechanized practices are adopted.
  • Ensure applications of mechanization in new area development (especially North) to stretch the fresh window for continuous fresh potato supply to reduce reliance on expensive storage and got best quality fresh Potatoes.
  • Develop liaison with mechanization team of other countries and implement their best mechanization practices at local level.
  • Provide direct support to Agro Business development manager on execution of all Capex items and keep a focus on progress of Capex projects during the year. Consume CAPEX as per agreed plan manage import or local development of Agro equipment as per agreed plan
  • Maintains inventory of Agro Fixed Assets which falls in mechanization and responsible to keep them safe and workable.in coordination with engineering team.
  • Develop close relation with Govt. department to get knowledge about latest development in mechanization and subsidies offer to farmers.
